BYD 472 cylinder block

This engine is designed for BYD’s 472 series and is manufactured using high-pressure die-cast aluminum, achieving both lightweight construction and outstanding thermal management. It features a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated configuration with a displacement of 1,498 mL and, through structural optimization, delivers an ultra-high compression ratio of 16:1. As the core power unit of BYD’s fifth-generation DM system, it integrates direct-injection technology with EGR exhaust gas recirculation and employs a deep Atkinson cycle, boosting thermal efficiency to a world-leading 46.06%. This powertrain is primarily used in plug-in hybrid models such as the Qin Plus and Seal 05, where its highly efficient design significantly reduces fuel consumption in battery-depleted driving conditions.

BYD EP040 Front Housing

Applied to BYD’s 1.5L high-efficiency Atkinson/Miller-cycle engine—the fifth-generation core model of the DM-i platform—the EP040 front housing features an ultra-highly integrated all-aluminum composite structure that combines timing cover protection, oil pump, thermal management, and NVH optimization in a single unit. It is constructed entirely from aluminum and incorporates an integrated dual-stage oil pump with a balance shaft, electrically controlled thermal management, and achieves a thermal efficiency of 46%. This component is primarily used in BYD’s Fangchengbao series passenger vehicles.

BYD reducer housing

The BYD SEQ02B reduction housing (differential housing/reducer housing) is a core heavy-duty structural component of BYD’s commercial vehicle, heavy-truck, and bus electric drive axles (SEQ02B series), emphasizing high strength, high integration, and long service life. It is designed for both all-electric and plug-in hybrid heavy-duty platforms and is suitable for BYD’s T5, T6, and T10 all-electric heavy trucks and sanitation vehicles; the K7, K8, and K9 all-electric buses and coaches; and the C6, C8, and C9 new-energy commercial vehicles.
